Masterfully constructed Sculptures by Tara Donovan

New York Artist Tara Donovan uses everyday objects like plastic cups, pencils, or drinking straws to create her amazingly construted large-scale art pieces. To be able to use these kinds of objects and transform them into something so preciously looking is a truly masterful skill. Rather then having a specific design in her mind, she lets the material work by itself. She is fascinated by ‘progress’ and so it seems to us as if her work is indeed growing, almost like living organism.

“I think in terms of infinity—of [the materials] expanding. I’m interested in this idea of a visual, expansive field that has shifting viewpoints.”
