SUZY POLING | POD BLOTZ

Suzy Poling is a Los-Angeles based, multidisciplinary artist who explores throughout her oeuvre, the beauty of chaos in an enigmatic and sophisticated conduit. What is deeply striking about Poling’s work is her ability to polarize conflicts within her aesthetic, whilst still portraying an overall resolution – There is a sense of harmony in discord, and a beauty in the process of transformation.

Her latest series of work, Topographical Paintings harnesses this conceptualisation brilliantly, as the imagery reveals a textured fluidity reminiscent of monochromatic, geological mapping. The flow of each work is what Poling attests to as an “investigation of spontaneity,” as well as being a visual esoteric narrative of the Earth’s underlying and mysterious principles. As a multidisciplinary artist, Poling’s talent is not only limited to the realm of painting. Her music moniker, Pod Blotz is a sonic, experimental exploration of similar principles and is another facet to her creative identity. Pod Blotz in turn, compliments her visual dialogue and offers what is this time an audio-sensory landscape, not unlike the function of a reflection to that of a mirror.

Topographical Paintings and Multiverse People will be showing for one week (From August 1st) at Fort Gallery in San Francisco and Cinders Gallery in NYC
