‘Other Worlds‘ is a photographic series by Ivan Friedman using a personal technique based on “Full Spectrum Photography”, this technique combines different portions of the light spectrum, detecting some ultraviolet, all of the visible and much of the near infrared spectrum, both visible and invisible to the human eye. “I like to say that it is a kind of a parallel reality, one that is beyond our human perception, but some other living being may see that it is still there”, Friedman says. He continues: ” The project is aimed at questioning the viewer on Men and its place in the Universe. Exploring those exotic landscapes, one can have a glimpse of the infinite multitude of worlds that populate the universe, travel through the history of his own planet well before we were born and thus have a better perspective toward our origins and fate. Furthermore, by unveiling to human eye what is beyond its visual capabilities, the viewer is invited to explore the invisible and therefore to question the nature of “reality”. Hopefully, he will experience a moment of detachment, a rest from the way he usually sees the world, and come back from the voyage with a little different look.”
